When Stratedigm introduced the Flowraissance Program in 2023, we hoped to demonstrate a rational approach to product development: technological progress should extend the value of existing systems without requiring customers to abandon instruments, workflows, and expertise that continue to serve them well.
We are pleased to announce that every eligible Stratedigm S1000 system shipped since 2008 has now been upgraded—at no cost—to our newly launched S1000 EON Spectra platform. Depending on the system configuration, the upgrades ranged in value from $90,000 to $180,000.
These upgrades brought the latest spectral capabilities to the iconic S1000 design while preserving continuity in assay design and data analysis. By building on a familiar platform and established workflows, Flowraissance also minimized retraining and reduced the disruption commonly associated with adopting an entirely new instrument.
After 18 years—and counting—the S1000 is, to our knowledge, the longest continuously produced flow cytometry analyzer platform in the industry. Its evolution from a 4-laser, 8-color analyzer in 2008 to a platform supporting up to 6 spatially separated lasers and 48 parameters with spectral unmixing demonstrates that longevity and cutting-edge performance need not be competing priorities.
To our knowledge, no other flow cytometry company has undertaken an upgrade program of this scope. We are grateful to have had the opportunity to bring systems spanning 18 years forward to our newest technology and to demonstrate a responsible, continuity-focused approach to product development.
The program’s positive reception created demand beyond our expectations, and some upgrades took longer to complete than originally anticipated. We sincerely thank our customers for their patience, understanding, and continued confidence throughout the process.
Flowraissance reflects our belief that scientific instruments should be developed responsibly, supported for the long term, and advanced in ways that protect customers’ investments, workflows, and knowledge. Above all, we are grateful for the opportunity we have had over the past 18 years to serve the flow cytometry community and support the scientists who rely on our instruments.
